Delhi is densely populated, accommodating more then 14 million people. It is approximated that 200000 – 300000 migrants settle in Delhi every year from different parts of India, resulting in expensive cost of living and alarming rise in population. Both literate and illiterate chunks of people migrate to Delhi in search of jobs, business and better living, some are successful but most others are exposed to hardships of this difficult city.
From extreme poor to very rich literate-illiterate, snobbish to kind hearted all type of people live in Delhi. There is a noticeable difference in their life style with many not even have place to sleep and food to eat, yet nobody wants to leave Delhi. Such is the charisma of this city.
People of Delhi are normally very fond of food; they love to eat but they exercise least. Mostly people of delhi are hard worker, energetic, talkative and money minded. On an average people here don’t believe in earn and spend instead they believe in saving for future. Not much used to weekend concepts Delhites usually work 6 or even 7 days a week and spend mostly on food, movies and shopping. Like all other Indians, cricket crazy Delhites live and die for cricket.
Over crowded Delhi is not among the clean and well managed cities of the world. Cleanliness is a personal choice for Delhites.
On an average people in Delhi are of conservative mind but with western influence and inclination of youth towards west, people are fast changing. There is lot to learn and experience from Delhi and its society, travelers will be astonished by the diversity and wide differences in lifestyle, thinking, and culture of Delhites.
